Help at Home After a C-Section
What a postpartum doula does after a C-section, day and overnight, what it costs, and when to book.

What your doula does after a C-section
- Complete baby care and newborn education
- Bringing your baby to you for feeds, then burping, changing and settling
- Bottles and pump parts washed, milk stored
- Baby laundry
- Meal prep
Overnight
Your doula takes the night so you get real rest. If you’re breastfeeding, your baby is brought to you for feeds. If you’re bottle feeding or pumping, your doula handles it. See what happens during an overnight doula shift.
Daytime
Your doula cares for the baby so you can rest, shower and eat, and answers the non-medical questions you didn’t want to bother the pediatrician with.
Cost
Daytime and overnight postpartum care are $55 to $75 an hour, with no extra fees. Daytime shifts have a 4 hour minimum; overnight shifts have an 8 hour minimum and run up to 12 hours. We’re an accepted provider for Carrot, Maven and Progyny, and postpartum care is reimbursable with an HSA or FSA. The full breakdown is in what postpartum doula care costs around Boston.
