These terms apply to your use of https://mhdoulas.com and to the services provided by Mother’s Helpers Doulas. By using this site or contacting us, you agree to them.

Our services

We are a postpartum doula agency serving Greater Boston, MetroWest, the North Shore, the South Shore, Central and Western Massachusetts, Rhode Island and southern New Hampshire. We provide daytime and overnight postpartum care, prenatal support, lactation support, sleep consulting and virtual support.

Our doulas do not provide medical care. Postpartum doulas offer non-medical newborn care, education and practical and emotional support. Nothing on this site and nothing your doula tells you is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult your physician, midwife, pediatrician or lactation consultant for medical concerns, and call 911 in an emergency.

Booking, rates and cancellation

Rates are listed on our services page and are quoted per hour. Daytime shifts have a four-hour minimum and overnight shifts have an eight-hour minimum. The rate for the specific doula matched to your family is confirmed with you before care begins.

Scheduling, cancellation and payment terms are agreed with you directly when you book. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to change or cancel a shift.

SMS and text messaging terms

Program description

Mother’s Helpers Doulas sends text messages to families and prospective families who provide their mobile number. Messages relate to enquiries you have made, scheduling and confirming doula shifts, matching you with a doula, and answering questions about your care.

How you opt in

You opt in by giving us your mobile number and agreeing to receive text messages — by submitting a form on this site with the messaging consent box checked, by texting us first at 508-766-0100, or by telling us verbally or in writing that we may text you. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any service from us.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your enquiry and your schedule of care.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply.

Opting out

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts. Opting out of texts does not cancel care you have booked, and we may still contact you by phone or email about it.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is outside our control.

Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All information related to text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and the account holder of, or authorised user of, the mobile number you provide.

Your responsibilities

• Give us accurate information, including anything about your baby’s health or your recovery that affects safe care.
• Provide a safe working environment for your doula in your home.
• Do not ask your doula to work outside their scope, which excludes medical tasks and clinical advice.

Intellectual property

The content, photographs and design of this site belong to Mother’s Helpers Doulas or are used with permission. Please do not reproduce them without our written consent.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Massachusetts law, Mother’s Helpers Doulas is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when we last did.
