Mother’s Helpers Doulas (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates https://mhdoulas.com and provides postpartum doula services. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, which may include:
- Your name, email address, phone number and town
- Your due date or your baby’s age, and the type of support you are looking for
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a message, call or text, which may include details about your family, your recovery or your baby’s care
- If you apply to join our team, your professional background and certifications
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site, such as pages viewed and general location derived from your IP address, used only to understand how the site is performing.
Health-related information
Because of the nature of postpartum care, you may share information about your health, your recovery or your baby. We treat this information as confidential. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA, but we handle what you tell us with the same discretion we bring to your home.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
- To match you with a doula and schedule care
- To contact you about your care, including by phone, text and email
- To process payment and, where relevant, family-benefit claims
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations
Mobile information and text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All information related to text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf — such as customer service platforms, scheduling tools and messaging providers — is permitted solely so that we can deliver the service you asked for. Those providers are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing.
If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about scheduling, your care, and enquiries you have made. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not stop us contacting you by phone or email about care you have booked. How we share information
We share your information only in these situations:
- With your doula. The doula matched to your family receives what they need to care for you well.
- With service providers. Scheduling, payment, communication and hosting providers who process information on our behalf under contract.
- With a family-benefit program, such as Carrot, Maven or Progyny, when you ask us to submit or support a claim.
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records and client records for as long as needed to provide care and to meet tax, insurance and legal obligations, then dispose of them securely. If you would like your information removed sooner, contact us and we will do so where we are not required to keep it.
Your choices
- Access, correction and deletion. Ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Texts. Reply STOP to any message, or tell us directly.
- Email. Use the unsubscribe link, or reply and ask.
Massachusetts residents, and residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion and portability. Contact us and we will honour them.
Children
Our services are purchased by adults. We do not knowingly collect information online from anyone under 18. Information about your baby or children is provided by you as their parent or guardian so that we can care for them.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
